Icy rain and wind loomed ahead yet the determined teams from Sharethrough were ready to walk, run, and ski through the cold, wet and snowy conditions of Mont-Tremblant for the 24h Tremblant fundraiser towards the betterment of children’s health and well-being.
Over the span of 24 hours, the team relayed for Fondation Tremblant, CHEO Foundation, and the Fondation Charles-Bruneau which support children that have physical or mental illness and impairments, live in disadvantaged areas or require special needs.
The three teams raised a grand total of $31,496 to support the non-profit organizations, ranking Sharethrough as the 24th largest donor out of the nearly 60 participating teams.
“Raising money and moving for a good cause while team-building with colleagues - what’s not to like?” said Evelyn Deschamps, Business Partner on our People & Culture team. “The event is carefully prepared and the feeling of togetherness with hundreds of people for the wellbeing of children is indescribable. Definitely a go-to that I won’t ever miss!”
Our very own Chris Nash, Sr Supply Revenue Operations Manager, covered the 4th longest distance of the event totalling an impressive 64km. “I am really grateful to have participated in my First 24h Tremblant!” said Chris. “Running with colleagues and friends, despite the wet and icy conditions was motivating and we all really displayed one of our company values, ‘Stronger Together.’
I am really happy to have been able to cover 64km in total and place in the top accumulated laps overall. All of this being said, the event was more than just me and what I can achieve. I hope the money raised will help further the work of the charities that support the treatment and recovery of children and look forward to being able to participate again next year!”
The 24h Tremblant took place between December 10 and 12, where 354 teams and 2,954 participants raced the sun, moon, and each other to support a worthy cause.
We are grateful to our employees for having volunteered, and praise their efforts in helping to raise awareness & funds to benefit the cause, and would like to thank everyone who donated.
Stéphanie Bégin, a law intern at Sharethrough summed up the experience perfectly, “It was an incredible experience! It was really rewarding to know that our actions can have a direct impact on the lives of children in need.”
